| Okay so there is an infection in my finger where I pulled a hangnail out two days ago. Now there is a small red line protruding from the infection area. I friend of mine told me this is a sign of a serious infection that has entered my bloodstream and is life-threatening. If my situation gets worse you'll know because I won't be posting for at least a 3 days if that happens. If it is blood poisoning and I don't find a way to get it checked out I could possible die. Not to mention I'm home alone for three day's with no hospital for at least 30 miles

| Having an infected finger does not necessarily mean that you have blood poisoning. If you really do believe that it is call an ambulance.
Though I would have thought that squeezing out the pus, wiping it with an antiseptic wipe (you can get them from KFC and stuff.) and then bandanging it would suffice until you can go to the hospital and get some antibiotics. |

| I meant it could be a possibility. Because my dad had the exact same infection on his finger and the doctor told him he has diabetes which caused the infection to spread rapidly through his body. i could have that if not blood poisoning

| You could ring up a medical advisor or something of that nature. Do you not have a doctors near where you live? |

| My nearest doctor is 30miles away. and my parents have my car bc they went to lexington, kentucky for a vacation. but im bouncing off here i just id inform everyone that i might not be on a for at least a couple of days

| ok, it might be nothing, but dont take the chance. call a doctor, explain it to him, take his advice. if he says get to the hosppital, then tell ur parents and get a ride |

Actually, can you call up your doctor and tell her/him that you'll send a picture of the finger through email if the doctors office is too far.

| Well it turns out its I DO have an infection in my finger and it's the same one my dad got a couple of months ago. My blood sugar was really high which let the infection spread rapidly. I'm taking medecine for it but if it get's worse I'll have to go to the ER. So for now I'm okay
